Allegations to be faced in Parliament, says Musharraf ISLAMABAD: Responding to the allegations leveled against him in terms of a joint declaration draft from ruling alliance, President Pervez Musharraf said late Thursday that he had not broken the constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan and would retaliate all the allegations in Parliament.
After the impeachment decision from coalition government was earthed in a joint press conference, President Musharraf held two-hour talks with PML-Q leaders and legal and constitution experts at President camp here in Rawalpindi to finalize the course of action to retaliate the charges leveled against him.
Earlier, President Musharraf cancelled his visit to attend the opening ceremony of Beijing Olympics and held negotiations with constitution expert Shareef-ud-Din Pirzada who during meeting counseled him with possible ways to defend himself against likely impeachment process.
President said that whatever he did was to strengthening the stability of country and to promote democracy.
People of Pakistan are facing the problems like electricity shortage, intense inflation and food crisis however the ruling alliance is moving ahead to trigger confrontations, he added.
